What better time of year than this? All the colors can’t help but show themselves, the crisp air can’t help but bring you full attention. I’ve been photographing children quite a bit in German Village over the past year – I’m grateful to say I’ve been frequenting the area more than I could have imagined. Schiller Park has become a client favorite! These two siblings were apprehensive about the session but it was minutes before we were playing and enjoying the gorgeous fall day together. Big Sister was so expressive and went back and forth between pensive and carefree, much like we do as adults. I could only imagine what was going on behind her sparkling eyes when she would bring her hands together and hold them close to her lips in a protective manner. Little Brother enjoyed the leaves and playing near the edge of the old staircase that I’ve [almost] overused this season. While he wasn’t very interested in me, it made for some interesting images of his exploration that day.
I’m excited that the colors have lasted as long as they have this year; the past 2 years the cold and rain came on much sooner, causing the leaves to fall quickly without much time to enjoy them. The last few days have been windy and rainy so it is likely the leaves will be gone very soon. But… bring on winter! Soup Weather, as I like to call it… in fact today there’s Potato Soup on the menu
So this is one of 14 sessions that have taken place in Columbus in the past 2 weeks! I’m excited to start blogging the rest of them, in addition to catching up on sharing some personal work and some sessions from late summer as well.
As always, thank you for your support and encouragement – it’s been such a joy transitioning into a specialized Childhood and Newborn Portrait Photographer. I’m looking forward to finishing off the year strong and working throughout most of the Holiday Season!
